Bareilly: A 15-year-old who was abducted, raped and now eight months pregnant is not just battling financial troubles and social stigma but also putting up with threats of acid attack by the man who repeatedly raped her. What has made matters worse is that the Baradari police initially refused to lodge a missing complaint and later rape-cum-abduction case.According to the girl, she was allegedly abducted by one Sonu Valmiki, 28, and his aide, on August 18 last year. They pushed her into a vehicle, took her to a room where Sonu repeatedly raped her for nine days and made video clip of the act. “I somehow managed to escape and returned home. But Sonu again abducted me and kept me confined in a room in an undisclosed location,” said the girl. The girl managed to flee three months ago.“We remained quiet but Sonu is now threatening me to marry him or else he will throw acid on us. How can I marry him?” said the girl, who gave a complaint to the SSP on Saturday. Following the complaint, an FIR was lodged against Sonu for rape at Baradari police station. Sonu is already married and has two kids aged two and four years. Her mother claimed the police first refused to file a missing complaint and later rape-cum-abduction case, saying her daughter had “gone with the accused on her own”. “I am an illiterate woman and don’t know n how to take up the case with the police. My husband lives in Chandigarh while one of my sons is physically disabled and the other is in jail for theft,” she said.
