more-in A 28-year-old software engineer allegedly committed suicide in her apartment on Kempegowda Road near Ramamurthy Nagar on Saturday night. The deceased has been identified as Rashmi. The police said Rashmi’s husband Satish, a native of Kolar, is a software engineer working in a private firm in Mahadevapura. Satish and Rashmi, who is also from Kolar, got married three years ago. The couple have a one-year-old son. Rashmi quit her job 25 days ago and was staying at home. In his statement to the police, Satish said he had gone to office as usual on Saturday morning. Around noon, his mother had left home to visit relatives. Rashmi had dropped their son in her parents' house and returned to the apartment where she allegedly committed suicide. The incident came to light when Satish returned home from office around 2 p.m. But the victim's mother Bhagyamma registered a dowry harassment case against Satish and his mother at the Ramamurthy Nagar police station. The police booked them under Section 304B (dowry death) of the IPC and have taken them into custody.
