BENGALURU: Election process gathered momentum on Friday as hundreds of candidates filed their nominations across the state, while the BJP announced its third list of nominees and the Janata Dal (Secular) its second.Among those who filed their nominations were CM Siddaramaiah, RV Deshpande, MB Patil, SS Mallikarjun from the Congress, Katta Subramanya Naidu, CT Ravi, and Suresh Kumar S from BJP, and HD Kumaraswamy and HD Revanna from JD(S).Siddaramaiah’s assets totalled Rs 11.2 crore and liabilities Rs 2.6 crore.The total number of nominations touched 708, up from 216 on Thursday.G Karunakara Reddy, mining baron G Janardhana Reddy’s brother, figured in the BJP’s third list of 58 candidates. The front — comprising Akhila Bharata Hindu Mahasabha, Shiv Sena, Sri Ram Sene, Sanatana Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Sampoorna Bharat Kranti Party — has sought ‘hat’ as a symbol from the Election Commission. If they are not allotted a symbol, then candidates will enter the fray as independents.
