more-in A conman who failed to distract a 39-year-old woman followed her to her house, attacked her and fled with her handbag containing gold jewellery. The incident took place at Banaswadi early Wednesday evening. |The woman, Lakshmi Prasanna Reddy, had gone to a bank in the area. When she stepped out, a man approached her and told her that some notes had fallen out of her bag. Ms. Reddy told the man that the notes did not belong to her and walked towards her car and drove home. The man however followed her on his two-wheeler. Ms. Reddy reached home, parked the car outside and began to walk towards the gate. However, the assailant came from behind and snatched her bag. She shouted for help, but he was able to escape before people came to her aid. The man escaped with 17 bangles, two pairs of earrings and two gold chains. The Banaswadi police have taken up a case of robbery and are verifying CCTV footage in an attempt to identify the accused.
