more-in Alert Immigration officials at the Kempegowda International Airport, on Wednesday, caught two Bangladesh nationals who were trying to board a flight to the United Arab Emirates using Indian passports. One among the accused, Allauddin Kazi, 34, hails from Khulna district in Bangladesh, but had been staying in Kolkata and Bengaluru for the past 14 years. He had got an Indian passport in Bengaluru by allegedly forging ID cards and documents, officials said. Kazi told Immigration officials that he crossed the India-Bangladesh border 14 years ago and worked in Kolkata for seven years as a supplier in a hotel and as a plumber. During this period, he claimed to have gone back to his native place in Bangladesh through the same route to meet his family before returning to Kolkata. Along with his associates, he came to Bengaluru seven years ago in search of a job. They had taken a house on rent on Bannerghatta Road. Using the rental agreement, Kazi obtained an Aadhaar card, electoral ID and a driving licence. He used the documents to apply for a passport, which he obtained in 2017, officials said. With the help of a relative working in Dubai, he obtained a tourist visa to visit him, the official added. In another incident, immigration officers arrested Ahmed Suhel, 21, from Moulavibazaar district of Bangladesh who was trying to board a Sharjah-bound flight using an Indian passport. Suhel claimed to have come to India using a fake Sri Lankan passport. He stayed in Tripura for a few months doing odd jobs. Using his local contacts, he obtained a transfer certificate from a local school before coming to Bengaluru. He worked as a labourer and stayed in Kodihalli in HAL third stage. During his stay in Bengaluru, he managed to get a PAN card, Aadhaar card and a driving licence. Using these documents, he obtained a passport earlier this year and then a tourist visa to visit Sharjah. Since August, immigration officials have caught as many as 10 Bangladesh nationals trying to fly to various Gulf countries using valid Indian passports.
