4,971 sites to applicants in Kempegowda layout

BENGALURU: Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday allotted nearly 5,000 sites to applicants in Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout developed by the Bangalore Development Authority BDA ). Under Phase II, another 4,971 sites have been allotted to the general public, 3,800 to land losers and 1,650 to those who parted with their land for the construction of major arterial roads in the layout. Till now, BDA has taken possession of 2,383 acres and 11 guntas and 17,920 sites have been formed. Details of sites allotted to the general public are available on BDA website, www.bdabangalore.org The CM, who initiated the computerised allotment process with the click of a key, said acquisition of the remaining 1,660 acres is underway and will be completed soon. “The process of refunding of initial deposit to unsuccessful applicants will be over in a month,” he added.Of the 17,920 sites allotted so far, 5,000 were allotted to the general public, 2,157 to land losers and 849 to site losers in Arkvathy Layout during 2016-17 under Phase I.

The site numbers were assigned on random basis.This is the second phase of allotment in the layout developed in an area spanning over 4,043 acres and 27 guntas of land in Kengeri and Yeshwantpur hoblis of Bengaluru north and south taluks. Work on the project began in 2003. Till now, BDA has taken possession of 2,383 acres and 11 guntas and 17,920 sites have been formed.
