BENGALURU : The Central Crime Branch ( CCB ) has launched a manhunt for two middlemen who took Ambidant Marketing Pvt Ltd chief Syed Ahmed Fareed to Gali Janardhana Reddy and a third man who transported 57kg of gold to the former minister from Bengaluru to Ballari in the Rs 600-crore Ambidant Marketing scam.CCB officers said Aslam and Brijesh Reddy are crucial to proving the connection between Ambidant and Reddy. They said the pair acted as middlemen, but refused to reveal anymore details.“These men took the Ambidant case to Reddy through his aide Mehfuz Ali Khan, and will prove crucial during prosecution,” an officer said.Besides, they are also looking for the man who supposedly transported the gold from Bengaluru jeweller Ramesh Kotharia and delivered to Ramesh, the owner of Rajmahal Jewellers, Ballari.Investors in the firm, meanwhile, are worried that their voices could be drowned out and their money lost for good in political mudslinging that is likely to unfold given the suspected involvement of ex-minister G Janardhana Reddy and the fact that he appears to be fingering current “ministers” in the scam.
