BJP set to capitalise on Siddaramaiah’s absence

It is also likely to be used as a “reference” for any future plans of the BJP to “destablise” the government.The BJP is scheduled to host its legislature party meeting on December 10, soon after its mega protest rally opposite the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi. “Just because he is not there, that does not mean there is going to be trouble. “This is evidence enough of the alliance being on tenterhooks.”The BJP will also keep track of “absentee” coalition legislators to drive home the point that members are unhappy with the coalition government. Siddaramaiah will attend the legislature from December 17 and the Congress party will have its legislature party meeting on December 18.”However, the BJP sees it as an opportunity to put the government on the back foot.“Never has the legislature leader of the ruling party skipped a session because of personal reasons,” said S Suresh Kumar, BJP spokesperson and MLA.

BENGALURU: In an attempt to embarrass the ruling coalition, the opposition BJP is likely to capitalise on the absence of Siddaramaiah , Congress legislature party leader and coordination committee chairman, during the first week of the state legislature session which is scheduled to commence in Belagavi from Monday.Siddaramaiah will take time off to attend the wedding of the daughter of a family friend in Malaysia . While the Congress has defended the absence of their CLP leader, the BJP says it is unprecedented.Dinesh Gundurao, KPCC president and legislator, on Sunday said Siddaramaiah’s absence will not be felt too badly since he would be gone only for a week.“He had planned the trip long before the dates of the legislature session were announced,” Gundurao said. “Just because he is not there, that does not mean there is going to be trouble.
