MANGLAURU: Union minister of statistics and programme implementation D V Sadananda Gowda said former chief minister Siddaramaiah is responsible for the political crisis in Karnataka Gowda told reporters here on Saturday that Siddaramaiah, who is the head of JD(S)-Congress coalition coordination committee, is behind the current political drama. “They are responsible for the ridiculous political scenario in Karnataka. Congress leaders are fighting amomg themselves and chief minister H D Kumaraswamy is not in a position to perform his duties. In fact, Siddaramaiah is not allowing the chief minister to perform well,” Gowda said.He alleged that Siddaramaiah has been trying to destabilize the coalition government in Karnataka through his own followers. “Siddaramaiah, who is pretending to be a peacemaker in the JD(S)-Congress coalition, also has been trying to destabilize the government. The current political drama has led to instability in state politics. People do not know what the chief minister is doing and the development of the state is at stake. However, the situation is favourable for H D Kumaraswamy. BJP has a clear stand when it comes to political situation in Karnataka,” Gowda said.Though Siddaramaiah is behind the political crisis, BJP is being blamed unnecessarily, he said. “Being the single largest party in Karnataka, BJP cannot tolerate the injustice being meted out to the people. Let them (JDS and Congress) quit power, if they are not able to continue in the government. Let MLAs resign if they are not interested in continuing with the Congress,” Gowda said and urged MLAs not to engage in political gimmicks.
