Dosa batter lands in Sheelavantha Lake, food firm apologises

BENGALURU: Residents who had gone for a stroll near Sheelavantha Lake , off Ramangondanhalli Borewell Road, near Whitefield, on Sunday were shocked to find food batter oozing out of large sacks piled up on its banks.A closer look at the gunny bags revealed that they were from iD Fresh Foods and contained dosa-idli batter and ready-to-cook parathas made by the food firm Spread over 19 acres and 32 guntas, the Sheelavantha Lake is home to a rich aquatic life, including fish, frogs and toads among others.“We saw around six to seven gunny bags, from which thick white liquid were flowing out into the lake,” said Natasha G (name changed), a resident.A lake guard said for the past two weeks, auto-tippers were dumping food waste into the water body.
