13 candidates in fray for DK constituency

They will be permanently disqualified to contest any election in future if found guilty and there are provision to take action against priests of such religious centres too,” he added. Meanwhile, Ismail Shafi K has withdrawn his candidature on Friday.Deputy commissioner S Sasikanth Senthil, who is also the returning officer, said the Election Commission will monitor closely the campaign trails of all political parties and independent candidates to check violation of model code of conduct.

Candidates in fray are Nalin Kumar Kateel (BJP – Lotus), Mithun M Rai (Indian National Congress – Hand), S Sathish Salian (Bahujan Samaj Party – Elephant), Mohammed Ilyas (Social Democratic Party of India – Gas Cylinder), Vijay Srinivas C (Uttama Prajakeeya Party – Auto Rickshaw), Supreeth Kumar Poojary ( Hindustan Janata Party – Cauliflower), Abdul Hameed (Independent – Key), Dominic Alexander D’Souza (independent – Diamond), Deepak Rajesh Coelho (independent – Diesel Pump), Mohammad Khalid (independent – Pressure Cooker), Maxim Pinto (Independent – Pot), Venkatesh Bende (Independent - Man blowing kahale (wind instrument) and H Suresh Poojary (Independent – Bat).While 15 aspirants had filed nominations, the nomination of BJP candidate (dummy) Sudarshana was rejected since sitting MP Nalin Kumar Kateel had filed a nomination with the party’s B Form.
