Siddaganga Mutt seer stable: hospital

The condition of 110-year-old Shivakumara Swami, seer of Siddaganga Mutt, who has been admitted to BGS Gleneagles Global Hospitals in Kengeri around 9.30 am on Thursday, is stable. The seer had been admitted to the same hospital in May this year after he had developed fever due to infection and obstruction in the liver. The obstruction had been released and another metal stent was placed through an endoscopy procedure. According to an official statement from the hospital, initial investigations show that he was suffering from an infection in the lungs, gall bladder, liver and pancreas with obstruction in the liver tube. A stent that had been placed in his bile duct in June last year had been obstructed due to the infection then.

Ravindra B.S., Chief of Medical Gastroenterology, and his team who are attending on the swami, have stabilised the patient now. “Further investigations are underway to completely assess the situation and further course of treatment will be decided based on the results of these tests,” the statement said. The seer had been admitted to the same hospital in May this year after he had developed fever due to infection and obstruction in the liver.
