HAL employee commits suicide

A 40-year-old HAL employee allegedly committed suicide in the HAL helicopter division on Monday afternoon while other employees had left the premises during the lunch break. He reported for work on Monday, but when his colleagues left to have lunch around 12.30 p.m., he hanged himself in the workshop. HAL police registered a case of unnatural death. Preliminary inquiries revealed that Kumar had borrowed money from several people to invest in property, but was unable to repay them. “The deceased has been identified as Vijay Kumar, a resident of Bannerghatta who has been a permanent employee in helicopter technical division for the past nine years,” said the police, He is married and the couple have a one-year-old son.
