Nursing College of AIIMS celebrates Woman’s Day

Nursing College AIIMS, Bhopal, commemorated the Foundation Day and celebrated International Womens Day with a Cultural Conclave on Sunday. The theme of the event was "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress - Role of Women towards Social Transformation in the Modern Era." Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Bhopal Inaugurated the event and highlighted the role of women not only in family but also in society and nation building. He underlined the important role of women in the development of modern India. Dr. Saikat Das, Associate Dean (Nursing and Allied Health Sciences) welcomed the guests and delegates and highlighted the various unique initiatives by Nursing College including Nurse led clinics, compassionate care (KARUNYA) initiative, and various steps for holistic development of nursing students. Guest speaker of the event, Ms. Naqui Jahan Qureshi Joint Director Department of Women and Child Development M.P. Govt. shared her inspiring journey of success offering insight on various initiatives by Govt. of India for women health and empowerment. In her address, Ms. Soumya Saxena, Programme Officer Action Aid and Ex. Member ICC, AIIMS Bhopal focused on the role of women in shaping an inclusive workplace, promoting equality.  The event also featured an interactive session moderated by Dr. Lily Podder, Associate Professor at Nursing College AIIMS Bhopal, discussing the pivotal role of women in social transformation. A theatrical performance by the B.Sc. (Hons.) nursing students on "Empowered Women in Ancient India" was one more attraction of the programm. Apart from the nursing students and nursing officers of AIIMS Bhopal, the program was attended by students from Peoples university, Bhopal School of Social Sciences and MANIT, Bhopal.
