MP receives rains consecutively fourth day

The state received unseasonal rain for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday as rainfall was witnessed in Multai, Chhindwara and Dindori in the afternoon along with strong winds. Plum-sized hailstones also fell at many places. Tomato and wheat crops have been damaged due to hailstorm. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of hail and rain in 13 districts including Jabalpur-Narsinghpur. At the same time, there is a red alert for Anuppur. Speedy storms will also be witnessed at a speed of 30 to 60 Km per hour in these districts. During the last 24 hours, 57 cities and towns of Madhya Pradesh including Balaghat, Seoni, Anuppur, Mandla, Shahdol, Chhindwara, Dindori, Umaria, Rewa, Betul received light and heavy rain at some places and hail storm was also witnessed.  Tirodi tehsil of Balaghat recorded the highest rainfall of 65.3 mm i.e. 2.5 inches. Heavy rain continued in Multai on Tuesday also. There was a heavy hailstorm in Sipava block for 15 minutes. There was a blanket of snow in the fields. Farmers said that the tomato crop got damaged due to heavy rain and hail. The harvested wheat is also rotting and have demanded a survey of crop damage due to rain in the area. There was heavy rain and hailstorm with thunder and lightning in Dindori district on Tuesday afternoon. A young man has died after being hit by lightning in Angai village of Bajag tehsil. Water fell in Chhindwara district also on Tuesday. Hail storms was witnessed at many places. Crops have been damaged due to hailstorm in a big village of Amarwada. MP Nakulnath inspected the crop damage due to hailstorm in Palamau Mohkhed. Hail accompanied by heavy rain fell in many villages of Chhindwara district. Crops have been damaged. According to the Meteorological Department, thunderstorm conditions will prevail in Sidhi, Singrauli, Dindori and Anuppur on March 20. Orange crop has been damaged due to storm in Chhindwara. Senior Scientist of IMD, Bhopal, said that the trough line is passing over Northern Odisha via Chhattisgarh till Vidarbha. Due to this, south-westerly winds are bringing moisture from the Arabian Sea. South-eastern winds are also bringing moisture from the Bay of Bengal to the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, there is a period of rain, hail and strong storms. Hail and rain are occurring in Eastern Madhya Pradesh. Due to the current system, the period of rain and hail is expected to continue till March 20. After this a Western Disturbance will be active. Its effect will also be seen in the state. After its return the effect of heat will increase. The weather has changed for the third time in March.
