Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan has directed all the collectors and district election officers to make proper arrangements for protection from extreme heat (heat stroke) in all the polling stations. He said that arrangements should also be made for pure drinking water and adequate chairs and benches for voters in the polling stations. Rajan has given instructions to install sheds in polling stations to protect voters from sunlight. He has said that medical kits should also be kept in every polling station. After discussion with the Chief Medical and Health Officer, all necessary medicines useful during summers should be provided in the medical kit. All polling parties should also have ORS packets and leaflets with Dos and Donts to protect themselves from extreme heat. Along with all the necessary medicines, appropriate number of para-medical staff should be also deployed in the Sector Officers vehicle.
