Ensure preparations for smooth, free and fair voting: CEO

Chief Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India, Rajeev Kumar on Thursday reviewed the preparations for the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections - 2024 on April 26 through video conferencing. Chief Election Commissioner Kumar said that all necessary preparations should be completed within the time limit to ensure smooth, free and fair voting. For the next 7 days, all observers should continuously monitor the preparations by staying in the field. Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhveer Singh Sandhu were also present in the review meeting. Rajeev Kumar said that all the observers should provide information about their mobile, landline, email and place of residence to the candidates and political parties, so that they can give information about any incident immediately. Get the deployment of police force, EVM, VVPAT and randomization of polling team employees done in your presence. Security arrangements must be continuously reviewed. He told to ensure cent percent distribution of voter information slips.
