  • | Monday | 29th April, 2024

A fire broke out due to a short circuit in the cabin of a capsule tanker filled with LPG on Saturday night near Ayyapur village of Khajuri area on Bhopal-Indore highway. After the tanker was engulfed in flames, the driver and cleaner parked it on the roadside and jumped out of the cabin to save their lives. Passersby informed the fire control about the matter on call. As soon as the information was received, police and fire brigade firefighters reached the spot and controlled the fire after half an hour of hard work. It was fortunate that the fire in the cabin did not reach the tanker, otherwise a major accident could have happened. Looking at the seriousness of the matter, the police had evacuated the surrounding residential areas. Police station in-charge Neeraj Verma said that on Saturday night a capsule tanker filled with LPG had left for Pilukhedi bottling plant from Bhopal. At around 7.30 pm, this tanker was passing near Ayyapur village ahead of Tumda village when suddenly a short circuit caught fire in the cabin.
