The third weeks coordination review meeting held under the chairmanship of West Central Railway General Manager, Shobhana Bandopadhyaya on Tuesday. In this meeting, Additional General Manager RS Saxena, heads of the headquarters, chief department heads and all three divisional railway managers were present. In this meeting, many important topics like major station re-development, loading, capital expenditure (capex), rail assistance, infrastructure work, punctuality etc were discussed. Along with this, emphasis was laid on safety, increase in speed limit and safe operation of trains.      At the beginning of the meeting, General Manager Mrs. Shobhana Bandopadhyaya said that all the three divisions should ensure filling of water in the coaches of all trains passing through West Central Railway during the summer season and there is a need to pay special attention to the punctuality of trains. Similarly, there is a need to work with planning towards achieving the set target of freight loading in the current financial year. Necessary directions were given to accelerate the ongoing major station re-development work under Amrit Station Scheme and complete it within the time limit. To increase capital expenditure (capex) and bring maximum utilization, infrastructure works should be expedited. There is a need to give special emphasis on rail assistance analysis under passenger amenities. He talked about monitoring the punctuality of trains, and laying emphasis on speed related works and safety of trains.     The General Manager also reviewed the progress of infrastructure works. He said that safety is of paramount importance for Railways. He reviewed the progress of work and projects to increase passenger facilities and directed the concerned officials to expedite the work. Bandopadhyaya directed the departmental heads and divisional railway managers to ensure timely operation of trains while giving priority to safety, security and passenger amenities. Along with this, freight loading should also be expedited, which will increase the income of Railways.
