Nat’l Safety Week begins at Paradip Port

The 53rd National Safety and Week with the theme "Focus on Safety Leadership for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Excellence" began at the Paradip Port Authority (PPA) on Monday. Chief guest PPA Chairman PL Haranadh inaugurated the Safety Week celebrations in the morning. He also flagged off an awareness rally of employees and workers. Haranadh said the PPA is focusing on creating awareness on safety, proper training, changing attitude of employees towards safety and to provide proper personal protective equipment. Of late, the PPA is concentrating on building road over-bridges to nullify any eventuality arising due to train or truck movements. Already MCHP flyover has been constructed and work is going on in full swing for second exit-cum-flyover bridge. Another two flyovers would also come up. Widening of internal roads is going on, which will improve truck congestion and ensure safety. Among others, PPA Deputy Chairman  Nilabhra Dasgupta,  CME(I/c), Capt AC. Sahoo, CME (I/c and Deputy.HoDs, ShPradeep Kumar Kar along with Safety Officer Janardan Nayak , RM of Chennai Radha Engineering Works Pvt Ltd. were present.    As part of weeklong celebrations, various awareness activities like safety essay, debate and poster competitions among employees and port users, seminars, dock safety training programmes, CPR Workshop activities would be conducted.
