Covid-19 update: Chandigarh reported 129 new cases on Wednesday

There are 1,963 active cases in the city as of now. A total of 215 patients were discharged after they recovered from the infection. A total of 9,813 people have been cured so far, as per the bulletin.

Chandigarh reported 129 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the state’s overall infection tally to 11,938.

The UT also reported four more virus related fatalities, taking the total death toll to 162.

There are 1,963 active cases in the city as of now. A total of 215 patients were discharged after they recovered from the infection. A total of 9,813 people have been cured so far, as per the bulletin.

So far, 77,489 samples have been taken for testing, of which 65,093 tested negative while reports of 189 are awaited, it said. 

Among the four death reported one Wednesday, a 61-year-old man from Sector 50, a case of acute kidney injury, encephalopathy, spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, and Covid positive, passed away at PGIMER.

A 48-year-old man from Manimajra, a case of type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and Covid-19, also died at PGIMER.

A 30-year-old man from Dhanas, a case of ARDS and Covid positive died at GMSH-16.

A 49-year-old man from Sector 41, a case of diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and Covid-19 died at Mayo Hospital, Mohali.
