Man out on bail in drugs case murdered, Sampla expresses concern

He said the accused assaulted the deceased, after a scuffle had earlier taken place in the day following the collision of motorcycles. Police officials said that Happy was arrested in a Narcotic, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act case and had come out on bail a few weeks back.After the incident, Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla too expressed concern over the law and order situation in Jalandhar on his Facebook wall.

Police arrested two persons by the evening in the case.Deceased Ashok Kumar Happy was attacked with sharp-edged weapons at Babu Jagjeevan Ram Chowk on Thursday late evening. He succumbed to his injuries in the wee hours of Friday.After his death, Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha state general secretary and BJP's IT cell in charge Amit Taneja, after meeting the family of the deceased, said Happy would not be cremated till the accused were held. They also raised questions on law and order situation in Jalandhar.In the evening, two college students were rounded up in connection with the murder after which Happy was cremated. Police officials said that Happy was arrested in a Narcotic, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act case and had come out on bail a few weeks back.After the incident, Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla too expressed concern over the law and order situation in Jalandhar on his Facebook wall. He said a Dalit youth was murdered just a few yards away from a police naka and it reflected a lot on the law and order situation in the city.When contacted, Jalandhar DCP Rajinder Singh said they had already rounded up two suspects and efforts were on to nab the rest. He said the accused assaulted the deceased, after a scuffle had earlier taken place in the day following the collision of motorcycles.
