Like the last many years, Kenya remains the preferred buyers’ market for European countries. The exporters foresaw a reasonable demand with last year’s export figures as the benchmark. When the supply exceeds demand even marginally, it pulls down the price of the entire stock of production. On the other hand, when the demand exceeds supply, the price shoots up for the cumulative production A flower should speak for itself, says Najeeb Ahmed, of Tanflora, a leading exporter from Hosur. When that fails, all other factors undercut the competitiveness of flowers in the global market, he says.
