Man brutally attacked by goons in US Nagar, video goes viral

In a incident which occurred in Chettal Bagh Balkhera village of Nanakmatta , unidentified goons armed with belts and country-made weapons severely thrashed one man near Balkhera crossroad. The pedestrians recorded the chilling incident on their phones, while some commuters tried to stop the goons they were intimidated by them.

After the video went viral on social media, District's Senior Superintendent of Police, Sadanand Date has taken a strong cognizance of the matter and sought a detailed report from the SHO and also ordered to identify the goons and book them under relevant sections of the IPC. .The incident was reported on Thursday evening, when at 5.30 pm at least half a dozen men brutally attacked Balwinder Singh (30) alleging him of eve-teasing. The victim was rushed to a hospital by his wife, Mandeep Kaur who told cops that Singh was beaten till he fell unconscious and began bleeding. Even as the victim cried for help, most of the passers-by did not intervene. Instead, they chose to record the video of the victim writhing in pain and pleading attackers with folded hands to let him go.Mandeep Kaur has alleged that Sitarganj police refused to file an FIR against unnamed persons. The incident later came to SSP Date's knowledge who ordered identification of the assailants and lodge immediate FIR in the case. “The Sitarganj police has been directed to identify the suspects involved in the crime with the help of viral video .
