Roorkee shootout: Shooters still at large, raids on, search operations underway

Dehradun: Multiple police teams have been dispatched to possible hideouts in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, after two accused involved in Thursday night’s shootout in Roorkee over parking spot managed to escape. However, according to officials, the accused are still at large and were not found at their residences.“We are confident that we will arrest them soon. All of them have been booked under SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The other accused in the matter are also under our radar and efforts are on to nab them too,” added Mishra.Till now, police have named 13 persons in the FIR and some unidentified persons as well who were allegedly present during the spat. The shootout had resulted in the death of one person while another one got critically injured.Manikant Mishra, SP Rural, Haridwar, told TOI, “The police teams have carried raids at residences and possible hideouts of the two identified accused who opened indiscriminate firing during the spat over the parking.”Sources said that police teams visited different locations in Muzaffarnagar and Saharanpur districts of UP.
