Centre, state to blame for activist’s death, says Cong, holds protest in Haridwar

Haridwar: Congress workers staged a protest in Haridwar on Friday, alleging that the Centre and the state government were to be blamed for demise of Ganga activist G D Agrawal. Singh said that the requests of Agrawal for a clean Ganga were ignored by the Centre and the state alike and thus they were jointly “responsible for his death”. He did not take any sincere step to save his life when he was fasting.” He also demanded a probe into Agrawal’s death.Singh added, “Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat gave a statement after the demise of the professor which reflects the insensitivity of the government.
