Dehradun: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has promised doorstep delivery of public services in Dehradun along the lines of those provided by the AAP government in Delhi in its manifesto.In its vision document listing 30 points, the AAP has also promised rebate in electricity and power bills and installation of CCTVs in the city. AAP’s mayoral candidate, Rajni Rawat, while releasing party’s manifesto on Tuesday said that she would remove corruption from roots if voted to power by the people. The party also promised a reduction in house and water tax apart from providing better roads and drainage system.

AAP’s mayoral candidate, Rajni Rawat, while releasing party’s manifesto on Tuesday said that she would remove corruption from roots if voted to power by the people. Rawat, a leader of the transgender community who is contesting elections for the second time after 2013, also assured people services like e-rickshaw charging points and community centres for weddings and other functions.“Everybody has faced problems while getting birth, death or marriage certificates made. If AAP is voted to power, I promise that people will get all such services at their doorstep, just like Arvind Kejriwal has done in Delhi. People will no longer have to run to government offices,” said Rawat.Over 40 services are covered in doorstep delivery of public services in Delhi. These include getting a driver’s licence, a marriage registration certificate or birth certificate. The service is available for a nominal fee of Rs 50.Rakesh Sinha, state coordinator, AAP, said that the party would also launch toll-free numbers to register civic complaints. The party also promised a reduction in house and water tax apart from providing better roads and drainage system. Building parks, rainwater harvesting and construction of toilets also found mention in the manifesto.
