NAINITAL: A man created quite a scene and tried to stab his wife in broad daylight in a market area on Wednesday in the Lalkuan area of Nainital district. The police are still trying to catch him.Sonu Sharma, 38, was allegedly in a legal dispute with his wife, which resulted in the violent move. Both have been living separately since the last nine months.The woman, identified as Rekha Sharma, 34, is a resident of ward number 6 in Lalkuan area. Shortly after the incident, she was taken to Soban Singh Jina Base Hospital in Haldwani, where her condition is said to be stable now.Janmejay Khanduri, senior superintendent of police told TOI, "Teams have been formed to arrest the accused. A case has been registered against him under section 307 (attempt to murder). The doctors told us that the woman is stable and she will recover soon.”The police teams are also talking to the families to get to the root cause of the dispute and the incident.The officials of the state police department told TOI that there were some marital issues and also other problems related to money and illicit affairs.
