Pithoragarh: The India-Nepal border will remain sealed ahead of urban local body elections in Pithoragarh and Champawat districts on November 18. Tanakpur and Banbasa in Champawat district as well as Dharchula in Pithoragarh district will go to polls on Sunday. Meanwhile, due to the closure of the border at Dharchula, movement of personnel and goods between the two countries came to a halt on Friday. Only ambulances and vehicles with a special permit from Champawat administration can come to India from Nepal, he added. The border at Dharchula was closed after 5pm on Friday and will reopen on Sunday at 5 pm, said R K Pandey, SDM and returning officer at Dharchula nagar palika.The border at Tanakpur and Banbasa will be closed on Sunday, said DM Champawat S N Pandey.
