Trespassers will be prosecuted.’Speaking on the issue, Nivedita Kukreti Kumar, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Dehradun, told TOI, “Amrita Singh reached Clement Town police station on Saturday night regarding a property dispute. She was categorically told that it’s a civil matter and they must approach civil court on the issue. Police will only interfere if there is a law and order problem.”According to sources, the property belongs to Amrita Singh’s maternal grandmother and has been a bone of contention between Madhusudan Bimbet and his two siblings —Amrita Singh’s mother Rukhsana Sultana and her sister Tahira, who have been seeking a share in the property, which has an estimated value of around Rs 50 crore. Two cases have been pending in the civil and district magistrate court in Dehradun regarding the matter—with one of the cases filed just a month back. When contacted, Dehradun district magistrate SA Murugesan said. “I cannot comment on family matters. However, they have cases pending, one in my court as well. The law will take its own course.”Meanwhile, Khushi Ram, the caretaker of the property -- who is opposing Amrita Singh’s intervention in the matter -- claimed that Madhusudan Bimbet, who was unmarried, had nominated a friend to take over the entire property. However, no one has yet come forward to stake a claim.Speaking to TOI, he said, “Madhusudanji had prepared a will and had nominated a friend of his to take over the entire property. I am aware that he is a government officer but I don’t know more than that.”Efforts to contact Amrita Singh remained futile as she along with her daughter had returned to Mumbai.
