Special meet held for Pulwama martyrs

Dehradun: A special prayer meeting was held for CRPF personnel who were killed in Pulwama attack at the under-construction war memorial in the city on Wednesday. “India is the only place where the country is called motherland and our Army has shown exemplary courage in fighting terrorism. All of us must respect Army personnel for their contribution.”The CM also inspected the progress of the under-construction war memorial spread on eight acres of land near the governor’s house.Giving out the details of the war memorial project, CEO (Dehradun cantonment), Zakir Hussain said, “The first phase of the war memorial would be completed by the end of the month.” Vijay added that he was campaigning for all educational institutes to have photographs of 10 Paramvir Chakra awardees in the premises.Speaking on the occasion, chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the Army was an inspiration to all. The names of CRPF personnel from the state who were killed in Pulwama would also be mentioned in the war memorial which is dedicated to soldiers from the state who died in the line of duty after 1947.On the occasion, 1,500 college students took an oath that they would greet all defence personnel with ‘Jai Hind’, said Vijay (who only uses his first name), chairman of Uttarakhand War Memorial.
