Meritorious students in Uttarakhand will be awarded with cash prize

The meritorious students in Uttarakhand state`s higher education institutes, the higher education department will be given cash prizes. This was announced by the Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on Monday.

Notably, the awards are reserved for students of three universities — Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University in Tehri Garhwal, Kumaon University in Nainital, and Soban Singh Jeena University in Almora. The award scheme is also applicable for the students pursuing courses in the degree colleges affiliated to these three universities.

According to the scheme, the student who has secured the first spot in the undergraduate course will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 while the ones who secure second and third spots will be awarded with Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively. Similarly, the first three toppers of the masters programs will be awarded with Rs 75,000, Rs 60,000, and Rs 30,000 respectively.
