Ajay Bhatt, Minister of State for Defence stated the Parliament on Monday that 29 women Army officers, who did not opt for permanent commission in the Indian Army, have been relieved from service.

“29 women officers who did not opt for permanent commission in the Army Special Selection Board No 5, have been relieved from service. Of these 29, three were relieved from service without a pension, as per the option chosen by them. These officers have served for around 10-14 years in the Army,” Bhatt said in a letter to Rajya Sabha.
He added that there are some of the schemes run by Directorate General of Resettlement (DGR), inter-alia, which include placement assistance through online registration at DGR. For example, Security Agency Schemes, ex-servicemen Coal loading and transportation scheme, management of CNG stations, allotment of Mother Dairy Milk booth and Safal shops in NCR, Coal/Tipper Attachment Scheme for widows and disabled soldiers, retail outlet dealership (petrol/diesel), employment seminars and resettlement training.
Ex-servicemen, especially female officers, are also given age relaxation while applying to central civil services and posts up to the level of assistant commandant in all para-military forces under the Government of India.
