Uttarakhand: 74% People Vaccinated, Confirms CM Dhami

Uttarakhand speeding up vaccination procedure in the state. 

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami today said that 99% of the eligible population has been vaccinated against coronavirus (Covid-19) as reiterated his government’s target of inoculating all residents of the hill state within four months.

 Dhami further said all eligible beneficiaries of Bageshwar district and Khirsu block in Pauri Garhwal have received their first dose of the anti-virus vaccine.

Overall, 74 percent of the eligible population in Uttarakhand has been inoculated against the virus, the CM was quoted as saying by news agency ANI. “We have received 19 lakh doses in August,” he added.

Dhami, who took over the reins following the resignation of Tirath Singh Rawat to become the youngest chief minister of the hill state, said one lakh people will be vaccinated in 100 wards of Dehradun on August 22.

Earlier, Dhami had said the administration was setting up camps in all the remote parts of the hill state to meet its target of cent per cent inoculation in four months.

According to latest updates from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Uttarakhand has, so far, vaccinated 74,34,757 beneficiaries of whom 56,61,593 have received the first doses, while another 17,73,16 have received the second dose.
