Man extorts Rs 3L from dad with lover’s help, booked

RUDRAPUR: A man in his 20s, Shoaib Khan, in Rudrapur of Udham Singh Nagar district, was booked following a court order of chief judicial magistrate (CJM), along with his girlfriend and two accomplices for blackmailing and extorting Rs 3 lakh from his father Tahir Khan. On June 5, Tahir, from Malsa Girdharpur village, received a call from a girl from Rudrapur, claiming that Shoaib had raped her and demanded Rs 5 lakh to avoid filing a police report.In return, Tahir negotiated Rs 3 lakh with the girl during a meeting on June 7. The matter came to light a few months later, when he checked his sons Instagram chat with the girl and two accomplices, and learned about his sons conspiracy against him.On the courts orders, a case has been registered against Shoaib, the girl and two unidentified men based on video evidence and a communication related to the payment of Rs 1 lakh.
