Ahead of GIS, CM reviews city beautification work

DEHRADUN: Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday reviewed the progress of beautification and road construction projects in preparation for the Global Investors Summit here on December 8-9.On his return from Delhi, where he extended an invitation to PM Modi for the summit, the chief minister inspected ongoing projects along the route from Jolly Grant airport to the Forest Research Institute (FRI), the venue for the summit.Dhami engaged with local residents and shopkeepers, seeking their inputs on the ongoing initiatives. Dhami urged officials to ensure all arrangements are in place well before the event. He stressed the importance of prompt completion of preparations across all departments to make the summit a grand success.Describing the summit as highly significant for the state, Dhami said: "MOUs amounting to Rs 2.5 lakh crore have been signed during several road shows preceding the summit." He added that execution of these agreements is in progress.The CM emphasised that the government is prioritising those proposals that promise substantial job creation for the state.
