Kumaon to get its first cattle feed manufacturing unit

RUDRAPUR: The state cooperative department is setting up Kumaons first silage (cattle feed) manufacturing factory in Udham Singh Nagar district. Officials have commenced the search for land, with plans to provide employment for over two dozen people. The state government initiated then chief minister Ghasyari Kalyan Yojana in November 2021, ensuring easy accessibility to vacuum-sealed bags of 25- 30 kg of silage for mountain communities.Now, the focus is on extending the scheme to the Terai region.Currently operational in Dehradun and Haridwar, silage plants produce vacuum-sealed bags for cattle farmers.
