US Nagar to get first animal hosp

RUDRAPUR: The Udham Singh Nagar district animal husbandry department is planning to set up the districts first model veterinary hospital in Rameswarpur of Kichha. With a budget estimate of Rs 4.75 crores, the facility is set to upgrade animal healthcare in the region. Notably, the district has over 1.75 lakh buffaloes, 1.40 lakh cows, 63,000 goats, 35,000 dogs, and over a million poultry birds. Dr SB Pandey, chief veterinary officer of the district, said, The project is expected to be completed within 12 to 18 months. The three-storey hospital is being constructed under NABARDs RIDF (Rural Infrastructure Development Fund) scheme, and the irrigation department has been given the responsibility of its construction. The animal hospital will house specialised facilities including a pathology lab for blood, faeces, and urine testing, cesarean facilities, and advanced diagnostic equipment such as X-ray and ultrasound.
