Modi to open summit tomorrow; Adani, Ambani expected to attend

DEHRADUN: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023 being held at Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, on December 8 and 9.Over 8,000 delegates, including 15 ambassadors and heads of missions from Spain, Slovenia, Nepal, Cuba, Greece, Austria, Japan, Saudi Arabia and other countries, will participate in the two-day event. The delegation will include top honchos of corporates like Voltas, Amul, IGL, Ambuja Exports and Thapar Group among others. Prominent industrialists including Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani are also expected to be present. Union home minister Amit Shah will attend the concluding day of the event.On Wednesday, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took stock of the preparations for the event. Till now, MoUs (memorandum of understanding) worth Rs 3 lakh crore have been signed with national and international business conglomerates. Now we are working on implementing the MoUs signed in the last three months. Priority is being given to those that will help in generating employment in the state, Dhami said.The CM also stressed that the government is making every possible effort to promote local products.Officials overseeing the events preparations said that the state government plans to highlight over 15 investor-friendly policies with an emphasis on good governance measures, a supportive regulatory framework and sustainable practices. The NSDC collaborates with private businesses to design and implement training programs for the evolving job market, positively impacting economic growth and employability.PM Modi leaves for India after attending World Climate Action SummitPrime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his successful participation at the World Climate Action Summit in Dubai. During the summit, he launched the Green Credit Initiative and participated in various sessions on climate finance, clean growth, and industry transition. Additionally, Modi had bilateral meetings with several world leaders including the Presidents of UAE, Jordan, Brazil, and the Prime Ministers of France, UK, Italy, and the Netherlands. He also met with the United Nations Secretary-General. Upon his departure, the Prime Minister returned to India after a productive day and had an informal interaction with the Indian diaspora.
