Uttarkashi: One person was killed and another injured after a car they were travelling in fell into a 50m-deep gorge near Chami on the Barkot-Vikasnagar highway in Uttarkashi district on Wednesday night.Police said that they were going towards Barkot town, when their vehicle met with an accident. Soon after, cops reached the spot and rescued the injured -- Ravi Kumar (58), a resident of Srinagar in Pauri Garhwal.The other man -- Manish (35) from Vikasnagar in Dehradun -- was founddead at the spot.District disaster management officer Devendra Patwal said on Thursday, "The injured man is being treated at a hospital in Naugaon. As per the doctors, he sustained minor injuries. The body of the deceased was kept in a mortuary after postmortem."
