CEO directs Excise Dept to check liquor sales and bootlegging in view of LS polls

In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections the chief electoral officer (CEO) BVRC Purushottam held a meeting of the officers of the Excise department on Friday. In the meeting the CEO directed Excise commissioner Prashant Arya to increase the vigilance on the sale and recovery of the liquor in the State. He said that CCTV cameras should be installed at the checkposts and directed that the Excise department should provide a daily report to his office. Purushottam said that the report on the action against illicit liquor and seizures should be uploaded on the Election Seizure Management System (ESMS) portal on a daily basis. He said that daily sale data of the last two years should be analysed and any spurt in the sale of liquor should be monitored. On a stern note, the CEO directed that the training of the excise and nodal officers should be completed in the next two to three days. He said the Excise department should trace the vehicles engaged in transporting illicit liquor and the assistance of police should also be taken.   The additional CEO Vijay Kumar Jogdande, joint CEO Namami Bansal, Pratap Shah and officers of Excise department were present in the meeting.
