The trend of leaders and workers from Congress and other parties joining the Bharatiya Janata Party has continued with a number of leaders from the Kumaon region joining the BJP here on Tuesday. Outgoing chairman of Shaktifarm Nagar Panchayat Ajay Jaiswal and Youth Congress State general secretary Ankita Pal among others, joined the BJP in the presence of the partys State president Mahendra Bhatt, cabinet minister Saurabh Bahuguna and other party leaders. A large number of good people from various parties joining the BJP shows that this is the time to join the party. We are the worlds biggest political party today because we are connected to the masses on the ground. There was a time under Congress governments when one had to struggle to get even basic facilities. However, today we have gone far beyond such basic facilities and are moving forward on the mission of a developed India. Today the general public is getting homes to live in, free medical treatment, ration and cooking gas along with better roads, rain and air connectivity which is much more than the allegations regarding Rs 15 lakh per person levelled by the opposition. PM Modi is concerned about all the 140 crore Indians so now it is time for all of us to work for him, Bhatt said. Addressing the gathering, Bahuguna said that the BJP is not only the worlds biggest party but also the most disciplined. All must imbibe the ideology and principles of the party and work for the organisation. Expressing his views, Jaiswal said that he had contested the previous Vidhan Sabha election as an AAP candidate from Sitarganj against Bahuguna, under whose leadership he had now joined the BJP. He said that all were impressed by the progress being achieved in the nation and the State under the leadership of PM Modi and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Pithoragarh resident Pal said that she had joined the BJP as she was impressed by the works done under Modi and Dhami. Various other political workers and leaders from Sitarganj, Shaktifarm and Jaspur also joined the BJP on the occasion.
