Important decisions taken in cabinet meeting

Various important decisions were taken in the meeting of the cabinet chaired by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday. The cabinet granted its approval for 100 per cent medical reimbursement to dialysis centres under the Atal Ayushman Yojana. Till now the government provided 50 per cent reimbursement under the scheme for dialysis. The cabinet also gave its approval for promulgation of the Uttarakhand service sector policy which will be in force till December 31, 2030. It also gave its assent for promulgation of manuals for the government institutes of hotel management in Dehradun and Almora. Under the Urban Development department, the cabinet approved granting of Nagar Panchayat status to Garhi Negi area in Kashipur.   In another important decision, the cabinet granted its approval to discontinue the BEd degree required for eligibility to secure position of primary school teacher under the Education department. Further, Rs 5,000 monthly scholarship was also approved for 100 meritorious students pursuing PhD. In a decision aimed at boosting tourism, the cabinet approved a pilot project under which a five-day helicopter sightseeing scheme will be operated for six months in Adi Kailash, Gunji and other areas of Pithoragarh district.   The proposal for operating the 300-bed cancer hospital in Harrawala and the 200-bed mother-child medical institution under the public private partnership mode was also approved by the cabinet. The restoration policy for the Lakhwad multipurpose project was also approved by the cabinet. Labour rates have been amended following this decision. The cabinet also approved work force projects worth Rs 630 crore under the Skill Development department.
