Officers of UP, U’khand, Delhi, Haryana & Punjab discuss preparations for LS polls

In view of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections and to forge inter-State coordination for the successful conduct of the elections, a meeting of senior officers of the administration and Police of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi was held on Friday. The meeting was held in a virtual mode and was chaired by the chief secretary of Haryana. The Home secretary of Uttarakhand, Dilip Jawalkar attended the meeting. He said that complete arrangements have been made in the State of Uttarakhand in view of the Lok Sabha elections-2024. He said that mutual coordination is being ensured with all the States on the border and a plan has been prepared from the security point of view and key information is being exchanged by consistently coordinating with the neighbouring States.  The additional director general of police (Crime, Law and Order) and the State police nodal officer for Lok Sabha elections, AP Anshuman also attended the meeting.  He said that all the 93 inter-State barriers in the State have been equipped with CCTV cameras. He said WhatsApp groups have been formed from the headquarters level to the police station level of the bordering States, through which there is constant coordination and important information is being exchanged with the bordering States. In the meeting the officers of Uttarakhand requested their Haryana counterparts to provide 2,000 home guards to the State.
