CPI-ML demands action on BJP for putting hoardings against norms

  • | Monday | 8th April, 2024

The Communist Party of India (Marxist Leninist) (CMP- ML) has alleged that the BJP has installed a large number of hoardings in different parts of the State in violation of the model code of conduct (MCC) enforced in the State in view of the Lok Sabha elections.  In a letter directed to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India and Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Uttarakhand, the CPI-ML leader Indresh Maikhuri claimed that the BJP has placed many hoardings in Dehradun and other areas. He said that between Rishikesh and Srinagar many hoardings have been placed but on most of them the permission of the districts other than where they are installed is placed, which is illegal. Maikhuri further claimed that in all the hoardings placed on the 100 kilometre distance between Rishikesh and Srinagar, serial number 10 is shown. He added that on many hoardings the mandatory print line and number is also missing. In the letter Maikhuri has demanded that action should be initiated against BJP in the case involving hoardings without print line and number.
