Thunder storm brings relief to residents

DEHRADUN: Several places in Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, witnessed strong thunder squall on Saturday morning. However, no student got injured in the incident.The storm struck Dehradun around 5:15am and lasted for over half an hour. The storm snapped trees, and power lines, plunging several areas into darkness.I n Bangla Kandi village, near Mussoorie , a tree fell due to heavy winds, damaging two cars parked under it. However, no one was hurt in the incident .Similar incidents occurred in Pithorgarh, Bageshwar and other hilly district. The roof of a government inter-college in Almora district was blown away by the gusty winds.

It resulted in power supply break down for several hours.M eanwhile, the temperatures, which were settling above normal, are also likely to begin dropping across the state from April 26, said Met director Bikram Singh.
