Young poets, story-tellers, comedians and singers from the city, most of who are college students, came together at an open mic session , titled 'Zindagi Mix-Veg', which was organized recently at a local cafe in Race Course . Youngsters were seen reading out their compositions (many were reading out from their mobile phones) while other performed music. The evening ended with an acoustic music performance where city-based band, Auchitya , performed current and retro Bollywood songs.Rajat Bansal, who was the organizer of the event as well as a participant, said, "I had planned to organize Zindagi Mix-Veg as we have so many talented artists in our town who do not often get a platform to showcase their skills. I myself like to recite poetry and this is a step towards giving a platform to young minds like ours. We will soon organize another such chapter of open mic soon."Haider Ali, a student and a participant in the event, says, "I am a poet and I love taking part in, or at least, attending such events. At this open mic, all the exuberant poets and singers not only got an opportunity to prove the worth of their kalam, but were on top of the world when they got a chance to address their lovely city!"Sachin Sati, a participant, said, "Such open mics are an amazing platform for young talents. I had a really good time performing at this event. Loved the audience too!"Akash Vashisht from the audience told us, "The ambience of the whole event was so entertaining. I was really amazed by the level of skills the participants exhibited."Nidhi, a student who was also in the audience, said, "I came to attend this event following a friend's recommendation and I loved the performances. Of course the closing session, the musical performance by Auchitya band, was mind blowing! I'd love to attend such more events."
