Mother slits 8-month-old infant's throat in Delhi

NEW DELHIl: In a shocking incident, a 29-year-old woman murdered her eight month old son and then attempted to commit suicide at Aman Vihar in outer Delhi on Friday morning. Locals have told cops that the woman was influenced by a godman whom she used to visit. It was found that she had slit the throat of the child and then stabbed herself repeatedly with a kitchen knife.Sarika has been admitted to a government hospital and is being treated. The family members claim that she had earlier attempted to murder her other son as well.The woman named Sarika was found in a pool of blood beside the body of her infant at their house in Prem Nagar area of Aman Vihar, by her husband. DCP outer, M N Tiwari said that a case of murder has been registered against the woman and a probe has been initiated to find out the role of the alleged godman.The woman's husband is a vegetable seller at a local market and is being questioned to find out whether he was aware of the activities of his wife.
