Google uncovered a new search feature that makes it easier and quicker for job seekers to find appropriate job opportunities from several job listing websites, online classifieds, and companies.

From today, when users search for job-related queries like "jobs near me", "jobs for freshers" or others, they will see a special column that can be expanded for a better experience. Google had first announced its job search engine at its I/O annual developer conference in the United States last year.

Google introduces new feature to find jobs

One can click on any job listing to view more details about the job title, location, and whether it is full time or part time among others. Users can narrow down results using smart filters, save the listings and share them. Users will also be able to sign up for email alerts whenever new and relevant jobs matching their interests become available.

Users can directly proceed to the job listing page on the partner’s website and apply for the job. The search experience will be available in English on Google`s flagship search app on Android and iOS and in Google Search on the desktop and mobile web.

Google has partnered with several companies including Aasaanjobs, Freshersworld, Headhonchos, IBM Talent Management Solutions, LinkedIn, Quezx, QuikrJobs, Shine.com, T-Jobs, TimesJobs*, and Wisdomjobs.

Rajan Anandan, Vice President India & Southeast Asia said, “In Q4 last year, we saw more than a 45% increase in the number of job search queries, and this number is continuously growing. However today, the job search experience is not always effective. On the other hand, companies -- especially SMEs -- that are the largest job creators are often unable to make their listings discoverable. This new job search experience powered by our partners and our open platform approach attempts to bridge this gap."
