Metro rectifies issues flagged by CMRS

The issues, states the documentation to this effect shared by anonymous blogger ‘The Metro Rail Guy (TMRG)’, were flagged by the CMRS after a “thorough 3-day final inspection” of the Line from May 8. “...the approval comes with a set of 37 conditions which the DMRC has to follow/correct prior to opening this final section of the line which will become the longest metro-route to be opened in one go...” the post stated. Two of these conditions, the document shared on the blog states, were related to railings installed at stations on the Line and water seepage at Haus Khas station. The section is scheduled to be thrown open to the public on May 29. “Railing at the platform ends at Janakpuri West, Dabri Mor, Panchsheel Park, Chirag Delhi, Greater Kailash and Nehru Enclave stations were continuous and not bonded. All metal structures, having continuous length [parallel to OHE] of 20 m or more, shall be bonded,” states the document. The other condition stated, “There was seepage, water leakage from pumps and water logging in pump room of Haus Khas station. This shall be repaired and area shall be kept dry and clean. Proper drainage of water in the tunnel, viaduct and stations should be ensured.” When contacted for a comment, DMRC spokesperson Anuj Dayal said, “The issue of railing at platform ends at few stations and seepage problem at Hauz Khas station’s pump room have been addressed as per the observations of the CMRS. ...Both these issues are not related to public services and in non passenger areas, with no direct bearing on the public opening of this section.”
